FAQ
Questions
What is Talos Data Works?
A physical AI data lab for the skilled trades. We outfit licensed tradespeople with the Talos rig — capture gloves, a head camera and a recorder — and turn their real work into multimodal training data for robots and embodied AI.
Who is the data for?
Robotics and humanoid teams, foundation model labs building world models and VLAs, and anyone who needs dexterous, real-world manipulation data beyond tabletop demos.
How is privacy handled on jobsites?
Every rig wearer, their business and every customer property sign before recording, and so does anyone else who will be clearly seen or heard. Other people's faces are blurred and their conversations muted before anything leaves Talos, recordings are stored under a contributor ID rather than a name, and they are never used to identify anyone. Recording pauses whenever someone asks. Read our Data Privacy & Agreements →
Does the rig slow tradespeople down?
It's designed to disappear: a thin knit glove, a camera on the hard hat and a recorder on the belt. Tradespeople work at their normal pace on their normal jobs.
What formats do you deliver?
One directory per episode: video as MP4, sensor streams as CSV or Parquet, and labels and a manifest as JSON, or in your own schema. Every file is listed in the manifest with its channel, rate, units and checksum, and every channel is aligned to a single session clock. See every channel →
Can we commission specific tasks?
Yes. Custom capture programs let you specify trades, tasks, environments and volume — in the field, in our lab, or both.
How do I join as a tradesperson?
Apply with your trade and license details. Accepted contributors sign the Electrician Agreement, and their employer signs off if they record on the job. Contributors earn 25% of Talos's net receipts from their recordings for 24 months after their first session, with a $100 minimum for anyone who records at least two hours.
